INTRODUCTION

The department offers B.Com & M.Com courses; Commerce attracts a good number of bright students every year in the college. The department has dedicated staff members. Guest lectures are arranged periodically by inviting experts from Industries & Institutions who impart knowledge to the students in latest areas relating to commerce. The department has well-furnished and spacious classrooms. In addition to the general library in the college, the department maintains a separate library exclusively for the use of the students and the department. Students are motivated to participate in seminars/conferences conducted in the local colleges regularly. Regular classes for Post Graduate students are handled visually using LCD projectors and Overhead Projector. Soft skills programs are conducted periodically for the benefit of the students to improve their communication skills.

Srinivasan College of Arts and Science was founded by Shri A. Srinivasan President of the Dhanalakshimi Srinivasan Group of institution, Perambalur.

Since its Inception in 2004, the Department of Commerce has been providing efficient and quality education in Commerce. B.Com Graduates are all very well placed in reputed Institutions. Well-experienced and dedicated faculty members in different fields of Accountancy and auditing were the strength of the department and produced Rank holders. B.Com Three-year program, which was recognized by Govt. of Tamil Nadu, affiliated to the Bharathidasan University.

This department takes all steps to provide the students a realistic of theory and practice by interaction through eminent Accountant sharing their experience and regular industrial visits.. Guest Lecture programs me of Eminent Scholars from various banking and Financial Institutions also.

New Paradigm on Financial Market in India

Srinivasan College of Arts and Science, Perambalur. The Department of Commerce and Commerce CA organized a one day National Conference on "New Paradigm on Financial Market in India" on 23.03.2016. The theme of the conference mainly focuses on financial Market in India. The Indian financial market is largely influenced by domestic and international factors. The emerging global financial crisis prevailing China, Europe and other Western countries affect the Indian financial Markets directly and indirectly. The capital market in India witnesses volatility trend. This kind of instability the Indian financial market influences the economic behavior of small investors and business behavior of entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to design appropriate policies on Indian capital markets. To restore the same on its original position. This seminar paves ways for finding remedial measures to solve emerging unwanted situation in Indian capital Markets.

Dr.R.Srinivasan Head, Department of commerce welcomed the gathering. Dr.N.Vetrivelan Principal of the college and Prof.G.Ravi, Vice Principal felicitated the conference. Dr.M.Venkateswaralu, professor of commerce Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi speaker was the Chief Guest and spoke on Indian Capital Market. He underlined volatility of Indian Capital Market and related concept. In the Afternoon session Dr.C.Paramasivan, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Periyar EVR College, Trichy acted a Resource Person and spoke on increasing importance of insurance and Banking in the emerging world. The emphasized on importance of Insurance and banking services and technology impact on banking services. The faculty member and Research scholars from various colleges and our college faculty members and students participated in large number and they cleared their doubts at the end of the conference Mr.R.Gopi, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks.
