INTRODUCTION

Literature is an everlasting expression in words, of some thought or feeling or idea about life and the world. It holds a mirror up to nature develops originally and makes one conscious of moral values.

With noble goals and aims, the Department of English was established in the year 2004. The department is offering B.A English Literature from 2004onwards. Now it extends its feather by providing M.A. English from 2010 onwards.

The Department is chiefly interested in opening fresh avenues for personality development and command of language skills along with the acquisition of knowledge of the subject, English Literature. It strives  to impart need based education, to excel in communication skills, to enhance knowledge in literature, to incite confident, ethical values and etiquettes which will pave way to be an outstanding Pedagogue, Journalist, BPO Organiser, Orator, dramatist, Poet, News Editor. Several Seminars, Bridge Courses and Guest Lectures are organized to enrich knowledge and to get through Competitive Exams.

The Department of English functions under its enterprising Head, Prof G.Haribaskar M.A.M.Phil., B.Ed who has put in 6 years of teaching experience. The Department also offers programs for effective language learning and improves the communication skills of the students in order to bring out confidence in them to face interviews.  

The English Literary Association 'KALISTO' has been constantly motivating, guiding and conducting various competitions to excavate the hidden talents of the students.
