Youth Red Cross of Srinivasan College of Arts and Science has inaugurated its activities and installed the new office bearers on 13/09/2017.Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder-Chairman of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the function. Mr.N.Jayaraman, Secretary (Hon), Indian Red Cross Society, Perambalur was a chief guest. He has installed
S.KARTHIKEYAN (III BCA) as President, R.RAJALAKSHMI (III PHYSICS) as secretary new office bearers and delivered special address. Principal and Vice-Principal of the college felicitated the gathering.
Chief guest Mr.N.Jayaraman, Secretary (Hon), Indian Red Cross Society, in his special address, he has stamped his views on the basic principles and values of Youth Red Cross. He told that it was a brain child of HENRY DONALD. Red Cross Society in Indian has three major classes; they are INDIAN RED CROSS, YOUTH RED CROSS, JUNIOR RED CROSS and it has its National headquarters at New Delhi and state headquarters at Chennai in Tamilnadu. He has also emphasized the four major areas that a member of Youth Red Cross must look after immensely; disaster response, Health, Clean and Disaster preparedness. He has confided with the students that Red Cross promotes humanitarian values which encourage respect for human beings and a willingness to work together to achieve a common social causes. Their major activities are hospital services, blood bank, and home for disabled people and conducting nursing activities.
Prof.M.G.Saravanan, Prof.S.Ananthi, co-coordinators of Youth Red Cross organized the programme. More than 200 students were participated and benefitted out of this programme.
YOUTH RED CROSS-BLOOD GROUPING CAMP
Youth Red Cross of Srinivasan College of Arts and Science has organized Blood Grouping Camp on 10/09/2017. Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder-Chairman of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institution presided over. Principal and vice principal of the college felicitated the gathering.
Youth Red Cross team has invited all the first year students to participate in this camp. Students camp up there and checked their blood group and CBC level. More than 1000 students joined in the camp. Prof.M.G.Saravanan, Prof.S.Ananthi co-coordinators of Youth Red Cross organized the programme.
Indian Red Cross Society celebrated 65th & 66th Anniversary Geneva Conventions on March 16th 2016 at Bharathidasan University. Dr.V.M.Muthukumar, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University conferred an Appreciation Certificate to Our YRC Programme Officer Prof.M.G.Saravanan, of Department of Computer Applications, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science for recognizing his service.
We also appreciate him and wish him to render his duties.
Youth Red Cross, engendered in 10th Sep 2009, with 175 students
as members works with the aim of providing help and support the
vulnerable HIV infected patients, to bring forth awareness regarding
knowledge strengthening, to understand and respect the public
authorities, to improve and upgrade the capacity for financial
planning. Activities like seminars, awareness programmes, and
competitions aid in achieving our objective of service to the
YRC is running in a grant manner by organizing many service schemes
with the help of students in order to strengthen our environment.
On 09.09.11 the disaster Management held in Perambalur by the
panjayat union, five of our college students was participated
in that occasion.
The inauguration of YRC occurred on 13.09.11 and it was started
and preside by the chief guest Dr.M.Thangaraj, on that moment
the honoring certificate were distributed to those five students
who were participated in the disaster Management.
On 21st January 2012 YRC conducted the drawing competition which
was judged by Head of the department of chemistry, students of
various department participated in the drawing competition.
Our principal madam granted the students and encouraged the participation.
On 29th February our students, in order to keep our surroundings
clean they under goes the process of campus cleaning.
On 6th March there was a lecture on health and its importance
given by Prof.A.Pechiammal, the principal of Srinivasan College
of Nursing, Which gives an awareness of various diseases and gives
a clear note of keeping a healthy body. On that occasion
by the hands of the Chief gust the winner of the students won
on the drawing competition were honours.
On March 8th the Women’s Day Celebration was organized by
the YRC by giving importance to the rights of Women.
