huge responsibility of shaping future generation and FDPs helps
in improving these qualities.
The FDP provided inputs on process and practice
of Personal development, communication and inter-personal skills,
creativity, nuances of problem solving, achievement, and motivation.
The training methodology included case studies, group discussions,
games, simulation exercises and classroom lectures. It helped in
equipping teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential
for inculcating basic values in students, guiding and monitoring
their progress towards a successful career.
The day one started with motivating the faculty
participants by visualizing the video titled "The One",
which tells about the personalities who have become No 1 in their
field of specialization. Initially there was consensus about the
basic qualities of the teacher which was concluded by giving guidelines
on improvisation and effective accomplishment of the tasks. Later
there was a Psycho Metric Test called DISC (Dominant/ Influence/
Shy/ Cautious). This test helps in performing self-analysis and
also in analyzing the characters of the students/persons we interact
with. This test ensures healthy relationship with others and also
helps to develop an ambient atmosphere at workplace.
On the second day of the training participants
were drawn attention to commitment, shouldering responsibilities,
to make the students to set their goals, and how to achieve the
goals within time frame by balloon and ball activities. Faculty
members were given case studies to analyze and assess it with multiple
perspectives. Through this, they were made to understand that teaching-learning
system should have deeper analytical and critical thinking so that
students can take active part in the learning process. Exclusive
session on team building helped in motivating the participants to
work as a team by breaking their personal barriers to achieve a
common goal. Stress was laid on team building to offer quality education
which envisages the vision of our chairman to offer quality education
to students from all strata of the society.
