College of Arts & Science (Co-Ed) has recently organized an
“Inauguration of the training programme on Employability Skills”.
Shri. A. Srinivasan, Founder -Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan
Group of Institutions presided over the function. Thiru.S.Kathiravan,
Vice-Chairman, Mrs. Ananthalakshmi Kathiravan, Thiru.P.Neelraj,
Secretary, Thiru.P. Mani and Thiru.Boopathi, Directors of the trust
graced the occasion. Mr.N.Rajkumar and Mr.C. Gomathi Shankar, Sieger
Groups (Pvt) Ltd., Chennai were the resource persons. Prof.R.Sasidhara,
Principal (In Charge) felicitated the gathering.
Resource persons in their special address emphasized
that the employability skills required not only to gain employment,
but also to progress within an enterprise so as to achieve one’s
potential and contribute successfully to enterprise strategic directions.
They gave a penoptical view on what the employers want from the
employees. They added that they are expecting verbal communication
so that employees can express their ideas clearly and confidently
also initiative and self-motivation need to have by the employees
therefore they identify the opportunities and proactive in putting
their ideas and solutions. They also gave importance of working
in a team because it will help them to develop relationships in
working place and handling customers.
They also dealt about soft skills, if the students
have the skills they can be recruited for king’s ransom. Resource
Persons motivated the students by visualizing video clippings of
the great personalities and entrepreneurs of our country and globe.
Finally they insisted them the employability skills gives enlightenment
and empowerment by which the individuals are able to secure better
quality of life.
1575 students from U.G and P.G of II & III
years of Arts & Science of the college actively participated
in the training programme and it will have been continuing for five
months. Earlier, Mr. V.Chandra Chowdry, Placement Officer of the
college welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons.
Coordinators of various departments made the arrangements for the
smooth conduct of the programme.
