& Science (Co-Ed) has recently organized one day workshop on
How to attend Job Interviews? Shri. A. Srinivasan, Founder -Chairman,
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the
function. Thiru.S.Kathiravan, Vice-Chairman, Mrs. Ananthalakshmi
Kathiravan, Thiru.P.Neelraj, Secretary, Thiru.P. Mani and Thiru.Boopathi,
Directors of the trust graced the occasion. Mr.S.Gokul Ragavan,
HR-Associate, YOGAM BPO, Chennai was the resource person. Prof.R.Sasidhara,
Principal (In Charge) felicitated the gathering.
The workshop dealt with today’s date of uncertainty and competition
getting a job is very difficult. Though there are plenty of reputed
companies spread all over yet getting a job in any of them needs
lot of skill and caliber. It is particularly because of this reason
that the students of rural colleges of today go through unnatural
stress to handle the pressure of the interview.
Resource Person in his address, he explained about what is interview?
and how it gives a chance to the interviewer to have the glimpse
of the interviewee. He also added the types of interviews, like
behavioural interview, telephonic interview, panel interview, situational
interview, stress interview, walk in interview and how we need to
prepare for attending those interviews. He noted a few points that
the students have to remember before attending interview; they are;
that they should know about the basic information about the company
or institution, how long they have been in to the service or business,
what are all their accomplishments and the like.
Also he told that how to present themselves? What are all the information
should be added while presenting them, maintaining kinesics during
interview, dress code and attire for men and women. He instructed
the students to have well prepared resume also gave some guide lines
on how to prepare a good resume. He was telling some FAQs in interview
and how to say answers for them and made the students to remember
that listening skills and communication plays a vital role in interview.
He concluded the workshop with a quote that Interview lost a few
minutes but its impact is lifelong.
Transformation brought about by this workshop was witnessed in
the feedback session; students were very keen about interview. 800
students from the final year of U.G & P.G attended the workshop.
Earlier, Mr. V.Chandra Chowdry, Placement officer of the college
welcomed the gathering. Coordinators of various departments made
the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme.
