TRICE GOUT ASSOCIATION of Department of Hotel Management & Catering Science of Srinivasan College of Arts & Science organized aTwo day workshop on “THE ART OF VEGETABLE & FRUIT CARVING” on 22nd & 23rd July 2015, in the college premises. Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman of the institution preside over the function. Dr.P.Senthilnatan Ph.D., Principal, felicitates the gathering. Prof.S.Yoganand, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. Chef.P.Kalaivanan Director, Academy of Carving and Culinary Art, Chennai, were the resource person for this occasion.
They said that carving is an extra curricular activity for the hotel management students and you should learn with your self interest and you need dedication, creative mind, concentration and knowledge of art and drawing, with the help of these you can become a good carver and achieve good opportunities in the hospitality industry, as well as in abroad also. Nowadays vegetable carving is becoming as one of the part of reception like marriage, engagement functions, conferencing meeting, birthday Parties and other festivals occasion in hotels.
By this skill you can stand and prove yourself in the industry. Not only that we can start an own business with this skill. Finally they carved 4 Petals Flower, 5 Petals Flowers in Radish, Carrot Flowers, Cucumber Flower, Beet Root Rose and Vinayagar in Pumpkin, Hornbill, Dragon, and Water Melon flowers, Vegetable Flower Bouquets, Reception Hall Vegetable Carving Arrangement were they made and displayed in front of the college lawn. The engineering, polytechnic, nursing, B.Ed college, Arts & Science and School students were noted the display and stunned on their work. Hotel Management students were among those function. Prof.Ilayaraja, prof. Natarajand Lab Assistant Mr.Durai Raj of Hotel Management were made the arrangements for this workshop.
